Remote Start 101: What to Expect on Installation Day
Remote start is one of the easiest upgrades to love and one of the most misunderstood to shop for. Here’s what actually happens on install day.
Before we start: a compatibility check
Every vehicle wires remote start a little differently, especially with push-button start and factory security systems. We confirm the right module and setup for your exact year, make, and model before work begins — that’s part of your free estimate.
How long it takes
Most remote start installs take a few hours, depending on the vehicle and whether you’re adding smartphone app control. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate when you book.
What we test before you leave
- Range test on the remote or app
- Confirming the vehicle locks/unlocks and starts/stops correctly
- Checking that your factory alarm (if equipped) still arms and disarms normally
- A quick walkthrough of any features specific to your system
After the install
Most systems have a short learning curve — mainly remembering it’s there. We’ll show you the basics before you drive off, and you’re always welcome to call with questions once you’ve lived with it for a week.
